Light a Candle for IPWSO

Dear Friends of IPWSO,
Before IPWSO was created, most of our 100 member countries were in the dark about diagnosis and treatment and most of our children did not survive. That world has changed dramatically and IPWSO's light now shines bright around the world. Unfortunately, we are facing a major risk of this light significantly dimming because our most generous corporate donor is no longer supporting us as it has changed its funding policy. We need your help to continue to provide free diagnosis, networking, support, guidance, and assistance to people with PWS, their families and their care providers throughout the world.

We need your help to light the way for IPWSO while we are seeking alternative funding!

Lighting the candles across this bridge of time will help provide essential support needed to continue IPWSO's activities in 2011. It has been 55 years since Prader-Willi syndrome was first recognized, so it is our Emerald Anniversary!  We need to light 55 candles to see our way across the bridge. Each donation of $1,000 will light one candle! Donations can be made by an individual or a group, and can be in honor or memory of a loved one if you choose. The name of the donor or honored individual will appear with the lighting of the candle.

We know many are unable to donate this amount of money, but you may know someone who can, or you may be able to get a group of people to work together to acquire enough to light your candle.

This funding will give the Board of Directors and the Executive Director, Giorgio Fornasier, time to work on alternative funding and help assure that IPWSO can fulfill its mission. You will receive an acknowledgement from IPWSO.
