IPWSO Delegates Meeting |
||||||
| The IPWSO delegates meeting at BIRD in April, what a wonderful
time this was! 38 of our 44 member countries were represented. This is the
highest percentage we have ever had. Many cultures and languages came together
once again to share a common bond. A very full program provided opportunities for scientists and parents to meet as separate groups and discuss current and future issues. The meeting began with scientific overviews including results from recent research and wish lists for future research and development. Breakout groups of English speaking parent delegates, Spanish speaking delegates and scientific delegates over the two days provided us with a unique opportunity to share information, our successes and our hopes of our individual organizations. The future of IPWSO was one of the topics well covered in discussions with goals now being. |

| More details reports about the discussions at this meeting
will be published in Wavelength. On Friday night the delegates were treated to a concert of classical music in the beautiful chapel at BIRD. Giorgio and his brilliant group of singers and musicians performed to the delight of everyone. This amazing concert concluded with Monica joining them to sing the IPWSO International anthem -"Fly High". A well-deserved standing ovation was given. Our most sincere thanks must go to Giorgio, his wife Maoriza, their family and friends and to our gracious hosts Anna and Guiseppe Baschirotto, for all the planning and work that went in this most successful weekend meeting. This photo is of all the delegates outside the main entrance of BIRD with our banner flying high in the background. |
